I'd vote for this, I'm Running 4.1.1 on my HP Touchpad, with Parinoidandroid and its super smooth. Plus I love being able to drop back to webOS for some good 'ol Multitasking fun (and webOS Community Edition adds so much!).
I dont see how thats an argument against it though, its more of a "lets educate not tech people that IE isn't the only thing out there" thing.
You say too cheap, but I honestly maybe watch 5 DVD/Blu Ray discs a year, Netflix instant streaming and Hulu are the future; if they were to license the tech the price may have gone up. they were trying to decide how to keep the cost down while at the same time providing a good product.

With AOKP ROM (and others I'm sure) you can simply put your phone face down and it will automatically switch from whatever its set on to silent. its pretty handy actually.
