Pardon my ignorance of the competitive gaming scene, but what does it matter if Nintendo is involved or not? Are they just looking for more money from competitions? What would that get them (on both sides)?

Game systems are not like fine wine, they do not get better with age. Asking companies to keep a library of their game catalog from older systems that could be accessed by their customers is really not that much to ask for in the long run.

This isn’t the square rpg that was coming to the switch that was advertised for it at launch is it?
