I didn't say it was. I said that attributing her dislike of Jon solely to jealousy was; as is the idea that Cat (or Ned, for that matter) would be totally down for legitimizing Jon and if only she were a nicer person it would've happened.

It's a TV thing. Not just Brienne: Tyrion's supposed to be startlingly ugly even before Blackwater, the Hound is supposed to be difficult to even look at, Jorah's ugly, Arya, Ygritte and Stannis are all described as being plain. Watching the show, Brienne and Clegane are the only ones who aren't obviously better

In last week's thread, people were pointing out how Robb marrying for love (vs because he has a concept of honor, and doesn't want the girl or her family to be treated as damaged goods) is an anachronism that plays a little better on screen, but actually weakens the character's motivations. I kind of felt the same way

Oh man, the helmet thing almost ruined it for me. I'm honestly a bit embarrassed to say why, because it makes me sound like a huge nitpicky dork. It's not even the "Why would you do that, you have no idea what could be in there" factor.
