When do they get into the "hire a professional investment manager, not just some guy you 'trust' from your hometown" conversation?
Most of that advice is pretty sound. Particularly for 20 year olds that may not have extensive "etiquette" education.
Is she mocking the advice or relaying it? It's easy to say this advice is silly and should be stuff that you should know by the time you're 11; I think I had a few more people telling it to me all my life than some of these guys.
I know this is tongue-in-cheek (including her coverage), but I would've loved some of this guidance at 18/19.
You would be amazed at the men I know who speak about their high school athletic career as the pinnacle of their lives. It is really really sad.
I work in downtown DC so it's mostly restaurants in the Farrugut through Chinatown areas. Maybe it's just more common that area with the super-busy lunch rush (and closer to Chinatown, hordes of tourists)? We always ask and the overwhelming majority say no.
The worst is when you know someone is intentionally not leaving 20% because they're miffed at God knows what, and so I end up leaving a 40 or 50% tip on my share of the bill that I can't really afford to leave but I don't want the waiter to get stiffed. I'm gonna let you in on an even bigger secret:
They're delicious and you should try it. Traditional Pittsburgh steak salads are fucking amazing. And a lot of the time the fries are steak fries so they're not that crispy.
He was basically obliterating a $40 piece of steak.
It is regional. We also put them on sandwiches.
Freaking out about Ebola in the U.S. while antibiotic resistant superbugs rampage in our hospitals is like fearing Freddy Kruger will ring the doorbell while Jeffrey Dahmer sits at your dining room table.
It's interesting that this list includes "You consider yourself a happy person." Doesn't that just say it all?
