Personal preference. I just find it to be a flawed design, that brings little to the table.

Wow...that's interesting. I retract my previous statement.

I use the app NFC Task Launcher. It can program them pretty much every way possible.

I has to have at least one bay right? They offer the MBP with HDD, AFAIK.

NFC chips like this can only carry a few bits of information, and are mostly used by programs for toggle purposes. Also, you have to have near direct contact with a specific part of the phone (less than 1cm in most cases), the screen must be on, and you usually have to confirm the action. No need to worry, it's safe

NFC chips are powered by the scanner, so they require no external power source. You can't send much information through them, but they can simplify simple tasks, or pass off small amounts of data.

Yeah, the uses for these things are limitless. You can program passwords for location based password protection, put one on your remote control to launch the TV Guide app, you can even use them as toggle switches, so they do one thing when tapped, and a completely different action when tapped again. To elaborate

This is true, but my only 'box' at home is a gaming rig, and even at idle uses about 300watts, and I don't want that running all day. Also, most of the large files I have are either VMs or large movie files, and I don't want to try to stream a 13gb .MKV over the air, and when I'm on a flight, for instance, it would

Yeah, the Siri type commercials even go back as far as the original facetime commercials, so I guess this is a 'roots' type of advert.

How is that trolling? Apple is a very aesthetic company, that's a fact sir. They tout all their hardware as being beautiful, so again, how is that not a fact? I also never said it was a bad thing, these little things are cool as hell.

I will say the size is pretty nice, but will there be any room to fit anything else in there? I like my optibay and dual HDD. Just saw this commercial tonight too. Am I the only one that thinks this isn't a very Apple-esq commercial?

Wait....what.... You just made a logical conclusion on the internet....I think it may explode...and you didn't go bitchtitscrazy when he mentioned android....it's definitely going to explode.

How'd you get a star for being such a troll?

If the door was NFC enabled, you could program your code into any of these tags if special security isn't needed, but you couldn't scan it on your phone to unlock a door AFAIK.

Not really, since they have to have a specific part of their phone within about 1cm from the puck, and it has to be on, and they would have to confirm the action in most cases. Plus, NFC tags like this won't work if placed on a metal object (which I assume turnstiles are made of).

Or you can go to [www.tagstand.com] and get them much cheaper, and without the logo. $15 gets you 15 tags, not just 5. They work awesome, and shipping was fast when I used them. You can find tons of apps to program them from any NFC phone, I personally love NFC Task Launcher from the Play Store. It cost, but the

Steel supports and high density foam mean it's heavy as hell. They don't list a weight on their website, but my foam topper for my bed weighs about 40lbs by itself, and this looks a bit thicker.

Haha...awesome. Wonder how they're going to change it.

I thought at first that they were only getting $20/hr to be beat and hit with beanbags, but $20/hr to throw rocks at cops seems fine. Good training for the Jersey riots 2012!
