One brother says it’s made up, another says the exact opposite. But if you want, we can completely ignore the Dylan Farrow abuse allegations. Let’s just look at what’s on the record, both from the courts and Woody Allen’s own words.

This isn’t a new problem.
No, that was not in reference to Weinstein. I was responding to the main topic of the article. The author made a point about reconciling the difference between appreciating the art and abhorring the actions of your ‘faves’. Specifically, my response was to the first bullet point in the article where bad people make…
Yes. No one is stopping you from doing anything. You can like and consume their work without liking them as a person. You can even like them as a person, so long as you recognize that they do have problematic issues.
Most Kobe fans don’t even realise that he made a public declaration apologising to the woman and admitting she did not consent https://www.thenation.com/article/wrestling-in-with-kobe-bryants-forgotten-apology/
its not even a power move in his part
An accusation is not evidence of a crime committed.
“That shit used to be confined to the privacy of your own home but now they are just out praticing in the street.”
Because if you pull that shit on a rapist, he’s gonna stop being just a raspist and become a fucking murderer too. Women get criticised all the time for not fightinghard enough. Because the ones that fight are dead rn.
The most common reaction for both men’s and women is freeze. The least common is flourish, where you, for lack of a better description, become the hero in your own story. Everyone wants to flourish, but this is very rare.
I’ve done the Freeze and absolutely hated myself for it.
she was deeply shocked by Weinstein’s behavior and was frozen
Rape accusations are bad enough, but opening for Florida/Georgia Line and having to park your tour bus at Walmart....this is all kind of low rent. All is not well there.
There’s no real reason people shouldn’t be guaranteed representation in civil cases. Obviously, Weinstein can afford it, but plenty of people can’t and, while the consequences of a civil case aren’t the same as those of a criminal case, the money won or lost is incredibly important for a lot of people.
I highly doubt that Bloom ever saw herself as “a champion of women”.
Her blurb on her firm’s website describes her as someone who represents the victims of sexual harassment. Literally.
These a very muddy waters bc technically you’re right, and Megan is too... it’s about the money. I could also understand that this is a passion project for her and to lose the funding for it would be a big blow. But it just really sucks to see this. It’s just a hard thing to take in.
Bloom has made her career representing women bringing cases claiming they’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted by men with power and money: Blac Chyna; Kathy Griffin; Janice Dickinson; an unnamed Trump rape accuser; a few of the many women suing Fox News for sexual harassment; Quantasia Sharpton, who alleges Usher…
Normally I’d agree with you 100% and I respect lawyers who have to work with, umm, unsavory people, for the sake of upholding our legal system. I’m glad the system works this way, because an unsavory person can very well turn out to be an innocent person, which is what matters in the end.
She’s not defending him, she’s running PR. Everyone has a right to a defense, not positive press.
