Do any of these still exist? they were pretty rare new, but I can’t recall the last time a saw one.

that’s not true. Many in the white house and the gop warned of it.

The attitude expressed in 4th gear proves that ballaban is a communist. He should move to venezuela.

Indeed “mount” and “winch” very well-played.

They are ENERGY companies. They will transition to other forms of energy not out of the business.

Oil is a fungible product. even a 5% drop in demand has a massive impact on prices. Oil will in time become as cheap as coal.

Not true. New SAGD is coming in around 18-25$.

They did the same in the Western Canadian basin in the eighties. Smaller companies that were more efficient picked up those assets for pennies and applied new technology - Alberta is where Horizontal drilling and frack were both commercialized first - and found far more oil at very low cost. The exact same thing is

Absurdly rich eh? on a risk reward scale the oil bidness makes a reasonable return.

No the price of extraction is falling and will continue to fall for many years to come. Fracking, horizontal, SAGD and other enhanced recovery technologies along with the rapidly increasing application of big Data tools are the reasons for that.

five years ago the science of oil was settled. PEak oil had been reached and we were going to run out. Now the science has done a complete about-face. Lefties need to learn a lesson from this...

that is not true studies and anecdotal experience have proven it. Sections of the Autobahn have no speed limit, but the vast, vast majority of drivers do not drive their cars at the maximum speed they are capable of.

Fuel efficiency is only one cost of driving. Time costs money and Lives in the aggregate. Gas is cheap and will remain so for several decades, and the air is cleaner than its been since before the civil war. why waste lives by making people drive slower than necessary?

Some regs do hurt commerce. Others don’t. No regs at all would mean chaos and destruction of wealth. There are already lots of regs on where businesses can purchase in NAFTA. Hopefully some, maybe many will be removed - like o air travel, communications, dairy and egg products etc.

They do. Leftist dogmatics like yourself can’t come to grips with that.

Cite your evidence. The Stock market in both Britain and the US disagree with you.

It’s called bargaining. NAFTA and all other managed trade (they aren’t free trade) arrangements need to be revised and improved periodically. It’s long overdue with NAFTA. Kudos for the administration beginning the process.

Four turbos. what could possibly go wrong.

And this was posted on jalopnik because...?

No he persists - like a good prosecutor- in trying to answers instead of obfuscation. That like any prosecution can be uncomfortable and sometimes tiresome. But it is the correct approach. And in the rare occasions when a dogmatic lefty answers the question he moves onto the next point of inquiry.
