I’m not sure about vendors, but cab drivers receive higher tips from riders that use credit card than cash. People mindlessly just push 15% or 20%, they don’t think to count out the cash change they want back.

“libel laws are much stronger over there”== free speech laws are much weaker over there
The strategy won Dwayne Wade his first NBA championship. Tried and true!
I saw a called foul and a non-call in the last few seconds of this one. Which one is more indicative of the “last 5 seconds of a college basketball tournament game”?
Not married, huh?
“because my hand is still a little glazey”
If they can have their own basketball team in the Olympics/World Championships, then they can have their own spot in maternity mortality rankings.
“I want to ensure that the children of this county have the same safe childhood that I had growing up,” Morley said in the clip.
“the two weeks should be sufficient to settle debts so high that they recently led to players not being paid their salaries”
I think you’ve touched on something essential that’s really bothered me about some of the comments here-- people want to carry water for equity and push more responsibilities of paying wages to the middle class. It’s sad that you don’t see what the point of these articles really are. It’s not to increase money for…
That’s the point of these articles. I’m not saying HQ is mandating these articles, but they certainly aren’t frowned upon.
No, it is an argument that owners pay their workers and websites like this stop carrying the water for equity. I would not be surprised if article ideas like this came down from HQ.
“As a side note, in non-resort cities in Mexico, the hotel staff won’t take the tips you leave out”
All of these articles seem like they were written by owners of restaurants/hotels/coffee shops. Anything to keep from paying their staff, even if it increases animosity among the working class.
Then have hotel pay their staff. Ta-dah!
Maybe you should have paid your fucking workers.
“With some cost-of-living inflation, $10 seems to be in the right ball park”
These articles seemingly exist to attempt to persuade people (who in this country and on this website are predominately in non-tipping service work) to give more money to tipped service workers, even though tipped service workers make more money on average than non-tipped service workers.
It’s better than a stadium. I’m not sure what else would be better in that location. Maybe housing for middle/upper middle class NYers (you know, the actual tax payers in this city)?
Wait to you check out the Leaning Tower of Pisa!
