Don’t get me wrong, there are our fair share of bigoted, racist fuck heads here, but even with how red the state has become in the last 20 years, it’s not any worse (and in fact better) than most other southern states.
Its really complicated here, surprisingly. Some people don’t want other industry here because Coal is the lifeblood of the state, it’s what their daddy’s and their daddy’s daddy’s did, and by God it’s an honest days work - it also doesn’t hurt that you can make some serious money if you work your way down the line.
