Well, I avoid fighting at all costs. I just don’t go out and beat people up. But I also understand that the best way to train is against a fully resistant opponent. You don’t really know if you can do a techniques or even know if a technique is viable until you have pressure tested it.

The subjective nature definitely needs to go. The difficult question is by what criteria are the refs required to stop a fight?

The best answer in my opinion is a series of unanswered, undefended blows. There are drawbacks of course. Many fights would probably end prematurely. Also such a situation is ripe for abuse.…
