did any circa-1985 theater programmer ever decide to screen a double-feature of The Goonies and St. Elmo’s Fire? What would that audience even look like?

I get all that, it’s the “which she previously understood to be” part that hit me. It makes it sound like she was not involved in her care decisions at the time. Like they just knocked her out and told her a false story about it after the fact.

“The model told the real story about the loss of her son Jack two years ago, which she previously understood to be a miscarriage”.

You have just discovered the flaw in the system when dealing with part-time “lifehackers”. Use your brain.

I’m going to have to take your word for that, because I have never heard of these people. If they have a bigoted background, I am completely unfamiliar.

I did, in fact, click on the link. It’s nothing but copypastas of WotC’s legal arguments, with no demonstration of the bigotry and racism claimed.

Because in journalism allegations are corroborated, and this story gives the impression that is the case, but when you follow the links there is no corroboration. So I am asking the community at large here to point me to corroboration. Somebody, somewhere, must have witnessed or screenshotted something more damning

According to Dicebreaker, Black characters get lower intelligence scores, and according to the injunction, transgender characters are “explicitly excluded,” somehow.

Lindsey Beauregard Graham, I do declare that for a Southern gentleman who has had no contact with a uterus since you exited one, you surely do have an uncanny interest in everyone else’s.

Except that back then there wasn’t an ownership conflict between the two franchises (Spelljammer and Star Frontiers) and now there is. Spelljammer was published in 1989, recycling much content from the not-so-popular 1982 Star Frontiers, and everything was in the TSR (the company that went under in 1997, not this new

Completely unrelated to D&D recycling old Star Frontiers races in the recent Spelljammer announcement, I’m sure. Seems less about WotC fighting for justice and more about protecting the IP they appropriated while it still belonged to another company.

“Ned Stark Guy” I’m crying. You’re right, it was gross and demonstrates an outdated mindset about intimate scenes in acting, but the “Ned Stark Guy” has been in so many famous roles it’s not worth me trying to explain his acting credits if you’ve never seen him and don’t know him. If you missed LotR, Goldeneye,

Your response is founded in the logical fallacy that since you and everyone you trust has not experienced a thing, it cannot possibly exist. You are surrounded by the company of a great many right-thinking people throughout history who were proven wrong by an unthinkable unlikelihood of circumstances. For my part, I

That statement is just as devoid of value as one that claims there definitely are ghosts. What proof could either side offer besides perception or the absence of it? Many claims of the presence of ghosts can be positively debunked, but not all. Conversely, some of us have experienced something in our lives that we’re

Racism, specifically against Romani and Middle Easterners, has been prevalent for a long time in Europe. I lived abroad a few decades ago, and my landlady was a sweet old grandmotherly type. She sat me down for tea every time I paid my rent, which was in person at her request. Get her started on Gitanos (“gypsies”)

Duct tape. It peels off when you need to use the sharp edge but keeps it from poking holes in things you don’t want holes poked in. for two decades I wore a P-38 on my dog tags around my neck, and used green duct tape as a silencer/safety cover for it.

All I know is I’ve had a thing for older redheads with a Princess Di cut since I was a kid, and now everything just clicked into place and I finally understand the source of that fetish. I’m here for it. RotJ was 1983, and puberty had just hit hard. I was DTF for Mon Mothma.

The ‘80s were a hell of a time. It baffles me that the business model of “Buy something off the shelf, slap your name and logo on it, and unload it for profit as quickly as possible” is clearly still viable. The world is hungry to buy the Hustle, it seems. Truth Social is nothing but open-source Mastadon social media
