It’s pretty reductive to assume that two similar phenomenons are due to the same process. One doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the other. You’re ignoring what makes them unique. You think the attitudes of Trumps followers are new? What do you know about American history.

Racial categories are ethnic as well. Or Ethnicity is sometimes a subset of race. However, the pretty much function the same.

Why can’t people acknowledge their heritage without it seeming like they are trying to distance themselves from their African ancestry. That’s erasure due to insecurity.

There IS a difference between Afro-American and Dominican or Caribbean. I hate how people don’t acknowledge this difference. Afro-latinos are real, sure, but they aren’t African-American. I hate the erasure of ethnic difference.

This all depends on where you shop. If you want super fresh veggies and fruits in the US most cities have those options. In many places you can also get really fresh milk as well.
