Is this cirrhosis brought on by repeated (i.e. daily) drinking in large quantities? I am legitimately ignorant about this, and while I enjoy drinking on the weekends (admittedly too much), this worries me. Is this something that could affect somebody who only drinks heavily, or is it just a matter of drinking period?

That sound stadium lights make in movies when they instantly turn on. First of all there is nothing instant about turning on those kinds of lights. There is a pretty long build up. And second there is no noise like that during any point of the process.
