I replacing a video card (currently have Radeon 5830) with the 6850 a strictly plug and play affair? I just want to get it over and done with without having a headache to worry about.

Is 7.1 a supported sound output for most modern Motherboards? Or does this require a separate sound card purchase of some kind?
