Holmes actually was a Madoff type who lied to educated people with serious money.
Reminds me of a famous IG dog I got to meet. Loki the Wolfdog.
You notice that pretty clearly in her interviews. At the beginning of interviews or when she’s making pre-prepared statements, she has that trademarked growl of hers. But when she has to think on her feet and speak off the cuff, her voice gets a lot higher.
I was absolutely flabbergasted that she isn’t behind bars. Apparently she wasn’t indicted until summer 2018 and the case is still proceeding. She faces up to 20 years in prison, but considering she’s a vaguely-ish pretty, vaguely-ish young, rich white woman I question whether she will do much time. Her Pakistani…
They said as much in the podcast out about the whole debacle. One of her professors from Stanford said she talked like a typical 19 year old co-ed and that this was all a very obvious affectation she adopted.
True story: we’re picking up a new puppy next week, and we’ve been going round and round on names. I briefly considered Balto, because it’s a sweet story and I still love the movie, but decided against it because I didn’t want even the faintest whiff of association with the “my dog’s so amazing because he’s part wolf”…
He had the nerve to tell Robin Roberts he was pissed at those who didn’t believe him. That there was no room for questioning him. Ugh what a dick.
You think a road in the United States called “I-690" is a city street?
Jimenez was a passenger in a car that lost control on the highway and struck a guardrail.
She can fork right off with her relationship privilege and judge-y attitudes about why people get married. This just smacks of a young adult who started defining themselves one way and then realized what they actually wanted conflicted in someway with their definition. It happens all the time. Working out this…
Not to go full “David-Brooks-psychology,” but we come from an area of the country heavily influenced by Nordic stoicism. Talking about how one feels is not really discouraged, because there is no point, because you just don’t talk at all.
It’s brutal. A close friend of mine had a man commit suicide by walking into traffic and she hit and killed him. Beyond the absolute horror of having seen someone die that up close and knowing that you’re “responsible”, she had to prove in court that the man was actually committing suicide so that she wasn’t charge…
Yeah, especially as they’ve confirmed that drugs and alcohol (and speeding) wasn’t involved. You can do everything you’re supposed to as a driver and still not be prepared for a pedestrian to appear in front of you on the highway.
Not to change the subject, but I’d like to point out that everyone and especially the writers on this site blasted Boeheim for saying Tyler Ennis “wasn’t ready for the NBA” after he declared for the draft. 4 years later, could anyone enlighten me as to how his NBA career is going?
I predict good things for this awful, awful comment. Well done.
He was initially charged with reckless driving but after review it was determined the guy wasn’t set and the call was reversed.
I know Boeheim is an irascible jerkbox who routinely undermines his own players as they leave for the NBA, and is not exactly well-liked outside of Syracuse, but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Obviously, the man who lost his life and his friends and family are even more affected, but it must feel horrible to be…
That to me is the most onerous part . Some innocent people could have been falsely accused and prosecuted .
