As the proud owner of a 4-cyl 5-spd 2wd ext cab 2002 Tacoma, I can’t agree with you more. Mine only has 71K on it, and I expect to give it to my now-9 year old daughter when she is driving age.
My uncle has a 1995.5 6-cyl 5-speed Tacoma with 418,000 miles on it. That thing still loves to work. What a tank!
I just sold my 2003 Taco that I had for 12 years and 326K miles. No where near as exciting as the WRX I replaced it with but I do miss it from time to time, usually when I’m in the parking lot of Home Depot.

We have a 05 baseline (wtf) RWD 4 cylinder Taco. That thing is a POS. Horrible in the rain, useless in winter. But alas even with a 2010 Tundra it has out hauled
