I picked up RPGMaker MV when it was on sale and I’ve been digging into it a bit- got past all the official tutorials at least so I think I’m okay with the basics. I thought to myself “Okay I’ll make something very simple at first” but alas I can’t stick to that. I’m thinking “Ooh, let’s have something like D&D 4 with

This weekend is going to have a somewhat interesting blend. Maybe I’ll finally decide to pick up Final Fantasy X after a 3- or 5-month layoff. I’ll have to check the pig flying forecast.

Like every week it seems, I’m not playing much of anything. Maybe it’s just my work increasing, or just the responsibilities of doing games criticism while also keeping up my daily Smash Bros. blog for the first time since 2015, or just a weird aggression mixed with depression that’s been taking over a lot of my

My weekend will mostly be dominated by Kirby Star Allies, which I plan to be streaming a bunch of at twitch.tv/dsanskrit

Ha, sweet. A little distracting gunfire down below, then... GRENADE PARTY. Congrats.

It’s been multiple weeks since my depression started and the work got both more extensive and less predictable, and in that time it’s been fairly clear I’ve not played much. I temporarily stopped doing Pokémon Crystal after feeling intimidated by the prospect of catching Raikou and Entei (though I did play just enough

What Have You Finished This Week?

I mean, I think you’re the most outraged-seeming person in these comments by a pretty wide margin.

“As a rule of thumb, I don’t go for clients and any mook can tell you that water types and electric types don’t mix. But this dame had gams up to her shell and moxie. She had me eating pokeberries out of the palm of her hands in not time”

“I was at the bottom of a bottle of whiskey way too early in the day, when there was a knock at the door.

I keep thinking about picking up Rime, particularly since the new patch seems to have ironed out some significant performance issues. What’s your take?

That second clip is some damn impressive trap work.

In celebration of some long overdue DropMix conversation, here are a few of my favorite mixes I’ve shared on Twitter:

It’s pretty intriguing to see Fortnite and PUBG diverging in their approach. I say this as an outsider - a person who is unlikely to ever play either game - but divergent evolution is always a cool thing.

Thanks for the thoughts on Superhot. It’s on my wishlist (which is really more of a “remember this looked kind of interesting” list, with like 50 games on it), and it looked like an intriguing combination of Mirror’s Edge and Hotline Miami. Sounds like still worth picking up on sale.

Superhot VR is indeed a unique experience all its own, and absolutely should be tried. I’ve played a lot of games, but somehow the immersion in that one made me feel more like a real action movie badass than anything before.

Clayton, as another Harmonix fan who still has Amplitude/Frequency collecting dust in the garage, I did try Harmonix’s VR offering and... it’s just a minor toy. Pretty disappointed.

Did try Doom VFR this week, though, and it’s nice enough. The downside is that we live in a post-Farpoint world, and that game did such

Yeah I think being F2P drives that kind of innovation, as you have to keep things fresh for old hands but have something to catch the eye of new players too.

I haven’t played Fortnite for a while but it certainly seems like they’re innovating it a lot more than Bluehole are with PUBG.
