I have such an affinity for the XTS that I just can’t explain. I am in the market for a large-ish sedan - I love the idea of a serene, comfortable cruiser to eat up the highway miles. I know I am in the minority (especially given my sub-40 age) but I have no desire for harsh, low-profile tires, insane skidpad g

For the sedan buyer, larger luxury sedans could be a good option.  I have my eyes on 2018 XTS’s and can find AWD Luxury trim variants for around the $30K mark.

I did not know that 1st Gen was RWD, that is cool.

I have a soft spot for these - my Mom had one and it was my first car I learned to drive on.  If I ever see another up for sale, I am pulling the trigger, insane repair fees be damned.

If you could find one, this car was practically born to meet your criteria:

I get your point, but sometimes, you really have no choice. In my example above, my flight was scheduled to get in at 9:30 pm at DFW, after leaving JFK around 7pm.  Weather delays, departure delays or any other random event and your reasonable flight that gets in early evening arrives during that airport dead zone

I am not ashamed to admit my night won’t be that awesome.

I would agree with you, but there are the unfortunate few that get stuck in airport purgatory, the witching hour if you will - roughly 1 am to 6 am - when leaving to go to a hotel just isn’t worth the hassle.

I think it is entirely dependent on where you are. I split time between rural Western NY and NYC. In the city, I usually take a cab - I can just walk down from my office, stand on the curb, and be off in a matter of seconds.

Makes me pine for the OG Top Gear - I would love to see Clarkson, May and Hammond take these three on a trip.

Coming of age in the mid-to-late nineties, the physics-defying play of Muggsy Bogues puts him at the top of my list.  Combine that with the period correct teal Starter Hornets jacket and *chefs kiss.*

Thank you, Simone.

Agreed - the Volvo S90 is gorgeous.

I would love to see whitewalls on a modern radial with alloy 19" wire wheels. The twist would be that the wire wheels are actually aluminum, made to look like individual spokes.

A 2015 Escape with AWD may be a good option.

That is a whole lotta clean american metal for $6K.  Great price.  Swap in whatever small block or V8 of your choice and your good to go.

Right??  I mean $70m for just showing up with a prancing horse on your livery is bonkers.

This is interesting. I naively that that the constructor winner received the largest share of the revenue share. Apparently, that is not the case:

All right, we’ll get one more.

This is such a great story.
