Considering that the Star Wars Marvel comics seem to be all about filling in the gaps between movies (they’re currently between IV and V, previously virgin territory) I wonder if many of the elements of Shadows of the Empire will show up there in time. My guess is Snoke gave him the opportunity to be something greater than his father, mother or uncle. Heroes of the galaxy, and the Rebellion. That’s a heavy cross to bear when you’re following in their footsteps - but rebelling? Going in the direction they rejected? That’s something he can excel in.
