New districts have to be drawn by at least March 15, new elections are next fall. The original court opinion said districts were to be redrawn at the next session, and the NC legislature has had three “special” session since then - and did not redraw. No one seems to care.

We are not that far away in NC. We are going down to the legislature almost every day - and they arrest us. The NC GOP is ignoring the law, ignoring the Federal Court (which had ordered them to re-draw the gerrymandered districts). It is BAD.

Ever since Sec. 5 of the Voting Rights Act was overturned, the NC GOP has been systemically suppressing the voting rights of historically disenfranchised communities “with surgical precision”, gerrymandering to keep the NC GOP leader in office (and making sure they run unopposed). For what it’s worth, I have never seen it that way. I think it makes a grotesque out of Trump, rightly so. It’s pretty rough and anything but soft or flattering. There’s a reason he hates it so much, after all, no?

That is the election fraud and vote rigging we should all be talking about. Congrats to Putin on the win, but voter suppression and gerrymandering are the unsung heroes in this story.
