Portia Doubleday is a great actress, but some of Angela’s instability this episode struck me as dangerously close to over-the-top. I vacillate between thinking that Esmail is ingeniously building her character up for something pivotal in the season finale and thinking that the show just doesn’t quite know what to do…

I don’t know. I laughed, but it kind of took me out of the episode a little. It was a pretty intense seen and, I mean, only a childish idiot would speak like that.

That was such a tense scene because I really like both of those characters. I didn’t want to see either a) Dom let her get away with it and look like an idiot for the first time or b) Dom shut her down and make her look like a fool for trying something so desperate.

I’be been around a few guys that use the word in reference to a vagina or to a perceived weaker male. Most of them were when we were in high school together, and it’s always made me feel uncomfortable in either context.
