Caught The Lovebirds on Netflix last night. Pretty good! Laughed out loud several times and the leads are terrific. Finished Dead To Me season 2 and can we just give Christina Applegate a goddamn Emmy already!

It doesn’t work like that. She has a 6 yr contract, so unless it was their idea to let her go, she would have to have a pretty compelling reason to break her contract and not have them sue her.

Yes, it would have a been a 6 yr contract. So it must have been something very significant for her to break the contract, and producers allowing her to do so. If it was producers decision, significant enough for them to go through the nightmare of recasting.

It’s pretty rare. Deadline says it was a ‘mutual decision after reflecting on the past season’, which could mean many things. The contracts are super solid so if the actor wanted to leave, it would have to be for very significant reasons. If it was the producers decision, the situation would have to be dire enough to…
