I found it to be peculiar as well and definitely creepy.  I get he was trying to build rapport with the kid, but some stranger talking to you about touching other people’s cock and balls seems odd to say the least.  

The beautiful thing about video games, is you can play sports games, you can play RPG’s, you can play fighting games, whatever the fuck you want to play.  You don’t have to just stick to sports games.  Even fans of sports games enjoy other interesting and exciting options.

Same here.  I like Overwatch, but I don’t love it, but there I sit playing it neglecting other new games I’ve barely started or haven’t even cracked the shrink wrap yet.
