As a general rule, sports leagues shouldn’t be weighing in as judges and juries on sexual assault because, not only are their leaders vastly unqualified to conduct these investigations or issue penalties, but their actions can cause more harm than good.

As a Lions for for most of my life (I tried to quit them and pick a new team for a couple of seasons and it just didn’t work) I can say with certainty, that the Leos definitely set the poop standard.  They set it not only for the NFL, but I would argue all of the major professional sports leagues in the US.
