Completely agreed.  It is a hard time for Comics with so many people wanting to censor anything controversial they say.  You said it much better than I could have.

So if your best friend did something terrible, you couldn’t feel bad for them?  You aren’t co-signing their behavior, but I think it is reasonable to still feel bad for them.

And I think that’s ok. He’s a comedian, I don’t need an enlightened take from him. Keep making me laugh. If he feels bad for his friends, I don’t know how that impacts me in any way. I can’t seem to muster any faux outrage for this one.
