This was my experience too (I used it because my employer required it). For the same price as a low-mid grade hotel (think Best Western) I got a twin bed with a shared bathroom (with a clogged showerhead) and a laundry list of rules that I had to live by.

yeah i still don’t get why it’s supposed to be better. hotels have laws and regulations, get cleaned regularly, if something happens you get covered, has a safe, meals, often a pool - vs - someone you don’t know’s apartment, with...none of that? often at a much higher price? it makes no sense.

I’ve never used AirBnB before.  I have an upcoming trip, looked into it.  Every one I found was more expensive than a room in a legit 5* hotel.  Without amenities like free meals, daily maid service, pool & gym, and in a couple of cases WiFi (not that I would trust someone else’s WiFi).

I went to a Giants/Jags game across the pond a few years ago and it was a delightfully weird sports experience in the sense that no one really wanted to murder the fans of the opposing team. People were just kind of there having fun and enjoying the experience.

The NFL has absolutely no incentive to do that. Owners get mad already when people clown on their draft picks, they’re not going to throw them out there with minimal preparation so that we all know for certain Chad Bumfuck from Boise State sucks ass.
