The biggest problem with using any NON-MS controller is compatibility. Some games will just refuse to let you use the controller properly (if not recognize as a native MS controller) and will require a paid 3rdparty driver

It’s not whether it is being played with a gamepad that bothers me, it’s is the lack of any indication of the player’s head movement..

For a VR game.. the player movement in the video looks too slow and stable? Looks almost like gamepad movement.

Same here, I have a decent gaming desktop, but work often requires me to travel. It will never replace my desktop, but the alternative just playing solitaire in hotel rooms is unimaginable
