Why stop with a gift card? Why not take to to the lowest common denominator: I doubt any restaurants livelihood hinges on an appetizer

Its unearned revenue, but it is still revenue. Use the funds to pay the employees and keep things afloat. Not odd at all if it works. And perhaps the owners of the gift cards don’t redeem them (like requesting refunds from concert venues).

In Seattle now, we went to neighborhood restaurant last night and it was surprisingly busy. Regardless this was not common most likely but it showed me many customers are aware of the plight as well as the need to get out of the damn house. I came up with some ideas for other restaurants while dining with my family.
