I’ve also noticed that the game rarely registers curve balls as actually being such.

That’s assuming that the same team works on server issues and client issues, which I can assure you from years of software development experience is not the case.

While they might be caused by server issues, the fact that the client reacts so badly to these server issues speaks to very bad error handling on the client side.

I have, and in this case it isn’t just the servers. The app itself is painfully bad, rotating between freezing, not-freezing-but-ignoring-touch-input, deciding it no longer wants to update my position with GPS, occasionally (and inexplicably on a new Nexus phone) stuttery augmented-reality, and more.

That’s fine, but there’s a pretty small percentage of mosques spewing hate. I’d reckon that here in the US it’s a smaller percentage than Christian churches spewing that hate.
