Your examples are so much more in character of what Diane or Cary would write and could even lead to an examination of their relationship but we know the show doesn't care about any of that. They could have spent a few scenes in these last 5 episodes on it but they chose not to.

The way they've been treating her character is shameful. Will had a build up of all his relationships in the episodes leading up to his departure, whereas Kalinda hasn't had a single moment of weight with any character that matters to her story. All I got from this episode is that she and Cary might still be together?

The thing about the Sony hack is that you're dealing with an international corporation who has offices all over the world and it's in constant communication with outsiders, like producers, writers, directors, or actors, that makes email a neccesity. But a law firm that occupies a single floor of offices? Name partners

After reading synopsis for the next couple of episodes, I am also wondering if they won't have her resigning from the office due to a scandal. I have some mixed feelings on this idea but I'll wait until it materializes.

Agreed on the insults. They were fun to hear but didn't make much sense in terms of character. I mean, Diane was Cary's number one fan the moment he walked into the firm and now she's writing he's not a great lawyer? Even if this was written around the time she joined and they were constantly butting heads, it

The part where they were reading the emails was soooooo goooooood! I wanted at least 2 more minutes dedicated to office trash talk. Having said that, some of those things sounded like nothing a few of those characters would say. And who would write emails like that on their work address to a coworker who is in the

I'm grateful for all the TV writers blasting this thing on twitter last night, complete with screencaps so I didn't have to give them my ethnic click!

They were both on Mad TV.

Great production value and direction as well. The Wendell music video actually looked like a video for an 80s power ballad (that is until he ran out of money, of course)

Yes to everything in your comment! I thought the storyline was meant to make Cary more sympathetic while steering him into being a more assertive type that could take a more active leadership role in the firm. Really, they could have taken his character in a lot of different directions. Instead, we've gotten no growth

Not only that but she was offering him Geneva's job. She is Castro's deputy!

Diane and Oliver Platt saved this episode for me. All her expressions and glorious laugh. Her little walk as she checked herself out in the hunting gear had me dying.

Not only that but their marriage is supposed to be of mutual convenience, yet Alicia takes the first chance she gets to throw him under the bus.

An ordeal like that word probably have some repercussions on how a person sees their life, their priorities, their relationship with the people around them. Don't you think?

Absolutely insane that they put his character though a half season ordeal and now it's like nothing ever happened. He's barely been on the show these past 5 episodes. They've completely wasted that storyline by failing to do a proper follow through. Like I said, the show just feels aimless right now. Like it doesn't

Well, no surprises there. This storyline had no forward momentum whatsoever. She's up by 5 points and they still want to make it sound like she might lose? Give me a break! That's just stupid storytelling. While it lasted, this whole thing was one tedious, life-sucking vortex. I'm glad it is finally over. And hey,

Bishop's PAC was introduced in S6E04… then dropped until Sweeney brought it up in E13. That's not a good narrative. Now we're supposed to believe her outright lie has stopped the issue. So no major outlets are looking into it anymore, even though it involves the first lady of the state? Come on.

Mind's Eye. She had a really short scene where she calls Alicia with Diane and Cary. About the same as The Debate where she appeared for 2 scenes with the two of them. In the Sweeney episode, she popped in court to leave Diane a document then spent the rest of the episode with Bishop.

Cary's storyline made it quite clear because, narratively speaking, it didn't make sense for Alicia and Kalinda to not be seen in court at the same time, if they both care so much about him. Seriously, not even in the sentencing hearing?

I'm not going to lie. It would have been a lot of fun if it had been Cary working with Finn in the case. Just to test the tensions there. Maybe they can have them share a case in the upcoming episodes.
