PDX isn’t a bad airport, but it is a major pain in the ass to fuel a rental car before returning it. There is only 1 gas station in the vicinity of the airport. Yes, you can opt to not refuel the rental, but lots of corporations require that you refuel your rental to save money.

I’m not a big fan of full-length jackets, but I love that one.
There’s been some great costume design in the last few years. Two that stick out to me are Whittaker’s 13th Doctor outfit and the wonderful Indian-inspired outfits Shohreh Aghdashloo wears in The Expanse.

One of my complaints about the Moffatt stories is that they often relied on what I think of as a figurative pun - ie, some clever turn of a character’s name or a trait. We all chuckle at how clever this wordplay is. Overall it got a little smarmy & derivative toward the end of his run. If the new showrunner just gives

That was Joseph Goebbels and his club foot she was talking about. In real life, the Minister of Propaganda did have a club foot which the Nazis in this show would have hidden. I think Helen was being subversive with 2 friends she knows to be gossips (evidenced by how she didn’t drink).
On to other points, I realized

Yes, American milk chocolate is more sugar & other stuff as opposed to chocolate with those items included.

I liked the new episode, the new Doctor, and the new companions. I saw in the spoiler discussion that a few folks felt like this was a Torchwood episode - thinking on it, yeah, I could see this being a first season Torchwood episode.

I’m sad to see hate for S11. I thought S11 got better in the later episodes. It definitely had some humor & learning curve issues. I know it all dropped at once, but the riffing was definitely better in the second half.
I have a friend who did the KS and loves, loves, loves old MST3k (streams the originals nonstop

JFC, so many gamers are touchy crybabies. How f’king fragile are their egos? It’s a game. It’s not real history.
I may get a copy on Steam just to support this developer and show that not all gaming males are f’king crybabies.

That looked awesome. I am going to force my wife to watch the trailer. She didn’t care about the Wonder Woman movie (despite loving the 70's TV show) until I forced her to watch that trailer.

I, for one, look forward to another season of Pittsburgh not even pretending to cover the tight end coming across the middle. Did every 1st string TE playing against Pittsburgh have a career day last year?

Wait, I thought ABC would’ve dumped AoS a long time ago but only kept it going because Disney mandated it.
I hope if they continue it’s with a better overall plot. The whole Kree & blown up planet thing was just about insufferable but I kept watching as I’m an idiot.

Good article. I would bet that some of the explanations in futuristic sci-fi is that physical disabilities are healed or fixed in-utero. This raises the issue that concerns many deaf activists - is it ethical to “fix” disabled persons, particularly those with congenital birth defects? On the flipside though, Star

Glad that the Netflix Marvel may embrace that these folks are superheroes. The second seasons of J Jones & Luke Cage sucked in part because the shows were people with extraordinary abilities acting like regular schmucks.

I haven’t read the books, but I figured the Ring built by the protomolecule merely accessed this void to allow access to an ancient transit hub. Holden’s vision showed dozens of openings out of the void but then they closed up 1 by 1. I’d further speculate that there must be a way to moderate or reset the speed limit.

Seeing some discussion of Season 3 - it’s entirely conceivable that the Forge would have not just the data collected on the guests, but also a backup of the Cradle. Why not?
Or Season 3 might be Maeve & Ake and other good hosts out in the real world hunting evil Dolores. That sounds terrible once I typed it...

Slaughterhouse V is notable for Billy Pilgrim being unstuck in time much like Bernard’s failing brain.

I figured that Emily saying she wanted in on the project was a headfake. She wasn’t going to lead with “reveal the project in full so that I might stop you and have you arrested/institutionalized”. When her father was still being delusion, she admitted her desire to actually stop him, not be a part of the plot.

Ake walking the halls was sometime in between the original massacre and the events of today. The two techs bring in someone from behavior that we haven’t seen before.

Yes. This x 1000. The episode was one of the best episodes of sci-fi I have seen in a long time. A melding of the hosts making their own mythos and Native American mythology (with which the hosts were probably given a hodge podge understanding of).

This.
Also, Star Lord wasn’t the only one who messed up a group’s plan for a selfish albeit noble goal (like wanting revenge for Gamora at the worst time). He stuck to his principles despite it blowing the group’s chance to defeat Thanos at that time.
I apologize for not being able to name another example right now.
