Being a 914 owner, I must say off the bat that they don't have Type I (Beetle) motor. We're talking Type IVs engines, but with better built cases than a Bus.

To drive down Porsche's market to an "affordable car" these days, it sounds more like a 914 redo more than a 550. A 914 probably shared the same amount of VW parts as an old 550, but there's quite a difference in history and consideration.

An 'ol coworker used to off-road hoon these all the time. He was able to get some crazy travel on it and it never cost him much to maintain. A good $$$ = fun ratio.

How many people are writing their own successful firmware at their desk when dealing with a fuel issue that has cropped up? You need to rely on the manufacturer to get around to it. And yes, mechanical issues can be adjusted for but not fixed by sensors and computer control.

I find this quite good... especially if you consider that you're watching just a 2 minute clip. Look up other videos on youtube and flickr to get a better sense.

Has anyone here dealt with phishing or hacking issues before? If you've been on the other end of them, you'll likely empathize a bit.
