What purpose does the tailfin serve, other than ruining the profile?

I’ve had a 2016 for 10k miles and so far no issues. It has been a great car, sold my e39 M5 to get the GTI and have no regrets.

Ferrari F355. Mid-engined, gated manual. Red on tan. Targa top. I don’t care about the engine out maintenance requirement. I love the wedge shape, reminds of a Lotus Esprit. I also think it is a nice progression of the 80's Ferraris’ harsh, crisp lines into there more recent design philosophy.

I feel like this song needs a bigger payoff. It keeps building and building with no real “explosion” that it seems like it is headed towards.

Weren’t the previous generations of the BMW Z and Supra considered to be in separate classes? Z4 was compact roadster like a Miata, while Supra was more of a GT-sized car? Kinda of strange that their successors would be platform/engine-mates.
