As someone who *does* like Kang (and I’d object to the character assassination you have committed repeatedly against him here—j/k), I will say that even though what we got in Loki wasn’t the Klassic Kang that I loved as a comic collector growing up, I think that Jonathan Majors absolutely stole the show at series end.

Heck, if you look back on those first phases, they didn’t have a coherent plan pre-Endgame; from what I know it seems like they had some ideas, but there are elements added to movies that were meant to pay off later but got shelved. I think you’re right that they stuck the landing there by staying nimble and

One of my least favorite tropes.

Tala: I’ve got a long heartfelt speech for you that I’m going to deliver in a rather actorly manner.

This show is about 5% cool scenes and 95% ridiculous contrivances, and/or everyone being an idiot, to stitch them together. The hangar fight was spatially nonsensical. It was a huge gun fight where everyone was about 40-50' apart to start. It kept cutting to the same shot of about 15, supposedly untrained, defenders

The entire fight in the hangar was nonsensical. The two sides were shooting at each other from 30-40' away. It was comical and ridiculous. Sometimes stormtroopers would walk right up to people, while not firing their own weapons, just to get shot from five feet away.

By the way, I do genuinely adore how one of the running themes of this show is how ridiculously easy it is to escape the Empire.

Okay, there’s something I really need explained to me as I watched this particular scene, rewinded it and still could not make sense of it.

I’ve had to explain to friends elsewhere around the globe what spelling bees even are. They don’t really exist outside of English-speaking countries, because other languages have orthographies that make sense, whereas the English language’s fucked up history led to a uniquely fucked up orthography.

Daddy’s little fraud, she’s as fake as daddy’s ridiculous make-believe bio is. She is not a “businesswoman”, her daddy gave her a “company” to play with. She was never a “model”, her daddy pulled strings to help her pretend she was. She is not “poised” or “moderate”, she is actually contrived and artificial, nothing

That’s the thing about those expensive, private school, rich people educations-

Bill O’Reilly goes in, sexual harassment suit comes out. Never a miscommunication. You can’t explain that.

One can acknowledge the flaws of one’s own country while also criticizing the flaws of another. In other words, we don’t have to believe America is perfect to say this particular attitude in Italy is bad.

I don’t think that’s the problem here, at all. The U.S. doesn’t have an official language either.

Italy is like that guy who peaked as the star QB in high school and has lived the rest of his life thinking he’s the same guy. Except high school was 2000 years ago.

I don’t know, ask the Greeks, buddy.

The Amanda Knox case is suddenly making a lot more sense to me...

In our hour of greatest need, let us turn on the Manimal signal.

I totally agree with this. I believe every word that Cross says here, it makes perfect sense. It is also totally offensive in the context that it happened, so he still should be apologizing for coming off as a racist, not simply explaining it away and insisting he isn’t racist. The recipient is the one who was
