I’m currently finishing Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet & Judith, before starting Joe Abercrombie’s new novel The Wisdom of Crowds.

He’s a two-time Oscar nominee and has been in the business for over 30 years. I don’t think he’s worried about this being a brief moment in the sun.

War movies were certainly viewed by members of the armed forces. And for that matter, civilian populations under direct threat (e.g., in the UK) regularly went to see movies like Mrs. Miniver that were exactly about their experiences.

Braugher was not ignored for Homicide — he won in 1998.

We made tons of war movies during World War II.  Cinema has always reflected current goings-on.

The real damaging misconception being propagated by this show is the notion that it’s viable for a family to survive in Brooklyn these days on one income.

TMZ also adds that while Jennings will be the interim host, sources say he’s “not seen as a real contender for the permanent gig” because of the ableist tweet that says “nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair.”

When the underlying audiences for whole swathes of movies have disappeared, there’s minimal foundation to do stuff like that.

Though that is in itself widely theorized to just be a concession to allow Richard Burbage to play the role, because Hamlet makes way more sense as a teenager.

Entire demographics of moviegoers have been completely abandoned.

It’s not a new term.

There is lots of illogical nonsense in comics around secret identities. There is no reason Peter should not trust his closest circle with his secret, especially since it makes all their lives (and his) easier.

None of those points individually are strong indicators that Peter is Spider-Man (other than the last one, maybe), but collectively they are a very strong case and once people looked at the whole picture it wouldn’t be easily rebuttable.

Michelle was low-key stalking Peter all the way through Homecoming.  He wasn’t aware of her, but he became interested in her in the time between movies, and they did have a relationship from that point.  Whether or not you think the relationship is well-developed, canonically it does exist and so there’s nothing

I watched this for the first time the other day in anticipation of this column, and I was floored by the sheer number of recognizable actors in it (even down to character actors like the guy who later played Foggy on the Netflix Daredevil show).

It’s not merely telling them who he is again, he’d lose all of their relationships with him pertaining to him being Spider-Man (which in the case of Michelle, in particular, is almost their whole relationship).

Because that would never work. Once you actually look at it, the in-universe evidence that Peter Parker is Spider-Man is overwhelming:

How does them knowing put them in danger? If anything, not knowing puts them in danger because they’re closely connected to a superhero but don’t know they might need to take precautions.

Why would you assume Jennings does either of those things?

Okay, you perhaps disagree with many aspects of the Mormon Church (I do as well), but do you describe any individual member of the Church as a “Mormon kook” and imply that that’s a basis on its own for not liking a person or wanting them to host a game show?
