Yea I was going to mention it's more for human protection, but I didn't want to people to assume I was a crazy backwood, redneck, paramilitary asshole. I literally shove my pistol in a pocket of my gear bag and forget about it until I get back home.

I carry a backwoods gun when I go camping for added insurance. In my part of the country there is no law against it, and makes my group feel safer.
