This thing will be the fastest vehicle to wear an RS badge. Just like the Edge ST was the fastest vehicle to wear an ST badge. So we’re getting faster, not slower.

It is the early 70's all over again... You realize we are seeing the beginning of a new automotive malaise where putting the RS badge on these fords is akin to making a Cobra edition of the Mustang II... or even the existence of the Mustang II.

Soon the Hellcats and RTs will be gone from Dodge.

All I’m saying is if all we are left with are CUVs, I’d rather have the option to drive the most entertaining one than no option at all.

Really, the worst case is this turns out to be a great, brilliant-looking move for Ford and everyone else follows suit. With the US population calling the shots with their wallets, this should not be considered far fetched.

When the Edge ST was announced, I learned that there are many people in the Jalopnik commentariat who are very concerned about protecting the heritage of the ST badge, as if the Edge ST was diluting the brand.

They should call it the Edgelord instead.
