Hi, fellow Torontonian! I received a similar directive. The surgical masks are way cheaper, too - I bought 25 of them for $5 at Dollarama. I opt to be less fashionable and safe. I hope you are well and stay that way!

I recently received a newsletter from a local pediatrican (I’m in Toronto) that said those cloth masks are practically useless and people need to stock up on surgical ones (unrealistic that most people would have access to N95s). My understanding is it’s better to reuse a surgical mask than use a cloth one.
