Joan is too methodical, planned, precise to ever become an addict.

Maybe pulls a Roger, marries later in life to an older woman… but he will still be a poon hound until he gets old & tired of it.

Never figured out the Betty hate….but think there is one main reason. Would dare to say women hate her a lot more than men do. Maybe women self-reflect in Betty, hate on her because we still in modern times have to be the perfect mother & wife. When women show they are dissatisfied with their housewife duties, it

btw…one of the biggest shockers in the finale, Joan wore pants!!! Our Joanie in pants, not once but twice. She perhaps changed the most out of everyone. Joan in pants=full metamorphasis

Thanks, that sounds interesting & will look into it. IMO people don't change, we just keep repeating the same mistakes over & over again. The only thing that truly changes, technology & how we use it to express ourselves or cover our faults.

My grandmother had 8 kids, the other grandmother 6. My mother 3, me none. Accessible birth control, freedom to choose changed the number of kids born & bet our grandmothers would have swallowed that no baby pill if it had been easily accessible & affordable.

Yep…my Dad was Jewish, born & raised in Appalachia. Members of his family moved to Manhattan. A few to the DC area. He moved to the NY area & experienced more racism in that area than he did In TN. My family had a very hard time in NY, you basically were contained to your neighborhood, your stores, your areas, only

Yes…a bit like the silent generation, we would in that time frame. Its fascinating though to see your generation turn about in your grandkids. Seems we autocorrect every generation, because we don't want to be like our parents. So we repeat the behaviors of every other previous generation. We run from being our

Jesus was a Jew, the early Christians were Jews. God spoke of them as someone would speak about a child, "I love you but you are stubborn, bullhead &….blah". Which sheds another light on Bettys letter to Sally "You marched to your own beat" …and lets face it the boomer generation was aimless, more aimless than say

oh gawd why did you just tell us that….but in reality shouldn't the young outlive the older? Unless you are Betty of course

Also her giving the letter with her wishes to Sally, was treating Sally as her equal. A grownup, more capable than Henry during that moment. That alone is a great compliment from a mother to her teenage daughter.

Well it didn't prevent her from getting cancer but it gave her the "f*ck & accept it stone cold acceptance attitude. Betty keepinng her resolve till the end. Love that she doesn't freak out no matter what, even staring at her own death.

After watching the first episode, B is too low of rating. Southern gothic meets a good ole boy detective feel. Riveted from the very first minute.
