Wish these more visual styles would support taskbars on the side, and also, no transparency, such as when the laptop switches to power saver mode and switches off the transparency. Really hard to read the clock when this happens.

Sadly I have to skip this as; t isn't entirely left hand Friendly (no analog slider on the right). Sony's NGP looks a bit more interesting than this. I will miss my Pokemans though.
Right click on the desktop Graphic Properties (different for those using ATi or Nvidia, but you should be able to figure it out) - Color Enhancement (differing again, but self explanable) - Saturation = 0.
VOTE: Custom Host file
I never see ads using a custom host file, but I wonder if they still know what I'm looking for? Well I have Tracking Protection on in IE9 RC, so I guess now it isn't such a big deal. But if you use a host file would this even still work? If you try to access a site, and the ad's domain is blocked, the information of…
Didn't know some of those, that's pretty helpful. One other thing I'd like to add that's a bit more generalized to any workflow is the usage of hot keys and also the context menu key. I think the context menu key is pretty underused, but when I'm typing a word document, it's a bit more convient to say, hit Context…
Needs to have touch, type, and stylus (pressure sensitive) input; mandatory. UI wise, modular, it would be nice to have an interface to use with a mouse/stylus to maximize the screen estate, but at the same time when not using those, be able to use bigger buttons and scrollers to select things.
It's kinda sad that none of these are sidebar gadgets imo, especially since that should have been one of the main features of Windows. Anyways, here are some decent sidebar gadgets that are pretty simple timers, and one a little more complex that resets after a certain interval.
@kishan.ut: Almost all premium credit cards have some form of extended warranties. I know AMEX is pretty nice though, I was able to get a full refund on my burned out Gateway convertible table half a year after my warranty went out, (which the thing died exactly one month after the warranty expired).
This is one of the handy things I turn on since computers these days have enough ram and speed to take advantage of these things. It isn't really a necessary thing as explorer these days like, never crashes. Another thing I check off while I'm in there (besides show hidden files and folders) is "Use check boxes to…
VOTE: Orzeszek Timer
I just got an HP tm2t, so I get the best of both worlds. If the professor is a douche and spews out a ton of informaiton, I can type it right away. If the professor is a bit more analytical, I can sit there and jot notes, and draw arrows to connect thoughts, all with the ability to edit cleanly. Luckily, Professional…
Bing usuually works better for me, but when I need to find something a bit more specific, I usually turn to Google, but for general results I've been noticing a ton more spam results on Google than Bing , and it's a pain fishing through those results for a reliable one.
Microsoft needs to optimize Windows, and not make another new Windows. Seriously, they need to focus all their Windows into just one friggin Window, then call the different editions Panes or something. All sharing the same code, just optimized for different hardware, carrying the same compatibility with them going…
@SDreamer: I guess edit is only a specific time limit? Anyways LH did an article on saved searches in Vista, called Virtual Folder. Article was from like 3 years back. [lifehacker.com]
Thought I'd mention, as I explained to Platypus Man, you can achieve something like this in Windows 7 (maybe Vista too, not sure). When you make a search you can save it, and move that saved search to anywhere you want (so you could add it to your Favorite Links and have it right there for quick access). It isn't…
@Platypus Man: In Windows 7 (and most likely Vista), you can save your searches, and you can find the save searches in your user folder simply called Searches. It essentially works like a folder too. I'm not sure if you can make it application specific like it is implied here (I don't think so, not in the method they…
lollol, i actuakly used a ten minute mail for registering to this site, and a somewhat ununique username. also luckiky the onky other places affected are forums, nothing confidential
@Hetare Kaiser: uh... we cant use the analog when we're hokding the stylus in our left hand...
Wow, that's pretty cool, abeit time consuming though, but it really adds a nice touch I think. I think I'll do this to avoid the nasty hand written names I usually end up with.
