When AVG had a new version come out, it installed without me knowing (shoulda read what was included in the install), and it installed. I thought at first it was bloatware, but thought about it, and I thought it was a good idea, but then I realized how much it slowed down web surfing, to the point where it was almost

A link to Snagit would have been nice. It looks really nice and feature robust, but for 50$ to save on the time of using prt sc, doesn't seem like a great deal. I really liked some of the others suggested, and mentioned here. PrtScr and Cropper. Sure hitting prt sc does almost the same thing, but having to open paint

The simplicity makes it a must for me for my XP machines.

@Eric Spencer: I second Cropper. I just gave it a try, works really well. Almost like Windows Snipping tool, cept I don't think there's a freeform capture tool, but most people don't need that. I'd say it's great for those who can't get Windows Snipping tool, such as WinXP non-tablet editions. That's a great find.

Anything like a tray icon with pop up alerts that works on Vista x64, without .Net 1.1. Emphasis on the works, lol.

Can't wait to see the results of this, would be nice to carry and OS on my flash drive. Messed up my Windows directory replacing some files, had to use a recovery disc and do it through command prompt. GUI is much easier, and less of a headache.

I use Windows Mail, it's simple and it's what I need. I'm a bit confused how to organize mail in Gmail, whereas desktop clients is very explorer like, just make a folder and stick the mail in there. Also being able to aggregate all the email in one place is really nice to do, but not all online email clients support

That's kinda neat. I like to use Windows (Live) Photo Gallery though for my picture browsing needs. Essentially does the same. Also, if using the built in Photo Gallery of Vista, you can just hit email pictures, and it will automatically resize the pictures in the email, thus no needing to resize and save it to insert

One huge reason I didn't like using Safari on PC was the super bold looking fonts

For myself, I still live with my parents (college student), but I try my hardest to not be a burden on their incomes (unemployed due to numerous classes), however, somethings I cut out were, haircuts, going out with friends, such as dinner or lunch. One thing I suggested to my parents was downgrade from cable

@Merricat: Forgot to mention easy batch operations. :)

I'd like to see a Pre comparison. Both aren't out yet, so that's kinda fair right?

Wow, 7 has so many new ways the user can customize, and yet only a minority will even use it most likely. Still meeting people today who don't know how to change their wallpaper... what Windows needs is some centralized area for all these customizations to happen, and make it apparent, like put the Personalize link

My Moto SLVR L7 has had copy and paste, means nothing, lol. But is Apple really that afraid of the Pre? Pre looks hideous to me, I mean the OS looks good, but the phone itself looks like some ugly alien birth pod or something to me. I find it sad that copy & paste being hyped so much as the big thing in OS 3.0, makes

@johnsmith1234: Honestly, I don't know what happened, because like I couldn't reboot at all, it would just hang before the Vista Orb popped up, on a black screen. In safe mode, it would just hang after loading crccheck.sys, it was probably because of the way I had to shut down that did that, I have no clue what

@jarhead: I tried this, and it totally messed up my computer, I don't know what the heck happened.

@Ender15: How would one go about this?

That's pretty cool. I wonder why there isn't software out there right now to make these things simpler for the average users. Just some overlay on the desktop that just lets you easily arrange widget like items in a fashion to these awesome desktops.

Not everyone knows the numbers for a cab or hotel. Probably just wanted to get home asap? 911 is faster? He did the right job, but I don't know, shouldn't it be a reward to not be arrested for having enough sense to know you're too drunk to drive or something? Kinda seems unfair to me, but such is life.

Uh that looks kinda fake to me. First of all, that doesn't look like an impact, it looks like it crumpled from within, second, the left front and rear look perfect, and third, why are the handles still in place like they weren't affected by "impact." Oh just noticed, the wheel-wells are still scratch free and not
