@grellanl: or on a laptop, you're most likely wireless. Just flip off the wifi switch on the laptop. Quick and easy (much more so than trying to pull the ethernet or power cord off your desktop).

@freedomweasel: sure, I use XP on a Dell. You can set the boot schedule from the BIOS. If you take a look, it's not difficult. I would send a specific tutorial, but every computer's BIOS menu is slightly unique.
