sweet!
Awesome post. This one is going on my bookmarks. My current struggle is to network my laptop. I recently installed Ubuntu 7.04, and was having problems getting it to communicated with my Vista desktop. I want to be able to connect these with my wireless router. Any suggestions/help?
i got a free one once at a job fair...i agree, it's an awesome tool to have.
although nobody can deny that free is good, i dont know if anything can replace the feeling of a nice paperback on a lazy afternoon.
Read both open pages of the book at the same time.
DownThemAll for sure ...it would be tough to beat...one of my favorite Firefox extensions.
yeah, what about something that reacts to a webcam motion sensing...that would be even better. esp for Windows (Vista). :)
Nothing beats the free goodness of OpenOffice, though.
I switched to OpenOffice years ago. For certain types of documents, I also deal exclusively with GoogleDocs. Microsoft Word 2003 was really that annoying, so I only used it at work (where it is the only approved word processor).
awesome vid!
I like the running of the Linux distro live from the CD idea. One step beyond would be to customize the Live CD so it has everything they would use.
Actually, now that I think about it, my grandfather refuses computers completely, but he has enjoyed web browsing, emailing, and word processing for quite a few years now. He uses WebTV, and it works for him.
I'm with backward pawn. I love my Ubuntu, and find it easy to use, but I don't consider it suitable for computer beginners. There might not be a way to fool-proof it, but there really are a bunch of things you can do to fix it for them.
i would say that i could care less about your approval, but i have to acknowledge that i seem to be bordering addiction to this site.
I've been using this same system since I was young...it's how my mother had taught me the months.
why do my comments never show up???
