Just for the record, I've had plenty of late Ryanair flights.

Long May You Run was the one that most stood out to me. Though relistening now, I think Cancer and Delerium best captures the sound of the show that night in 07.
Oh yeah, I loved the Jimmy Lavalle stuff (especially "Somehow The Wonder Of Life Prevails".) I've even enjoyed bits and pieces of the newer albums too — I get why the aesthetic works. I just don't get why it works half as well as the old stuff, or why it would really stir something deep down in more people. That's…
I feel the same way about Father John Misty as I feel about the past few Sun Kil Moon albums: confused, and confronted with the fact that musical taste is very subjective. I loved Tillman ever since I first saw him open for David Bazan in 2007, when his a capella lead-in to "When I Light Your Darkened Door" silenced…
What a lovely writeup!
It is a hypothetical possibility opened up by this bill. It does not necessarily mean any ISP would risk the PR hellstorm of actually doing it. That's why the crowdfunding campaign feels like a bit of an empty threat — as terrible, of course, as the law is.
Unpopular opinion time: I think the new layout is great. Mainly because refreshing comments used to be a huge pain, and auto-playing ads would constantly force my browser back to the top of the page.
You had me at "slythy toves"
Basically, I'm saying I lack the imagination to conceive of anyone who dislikes Chicken Run. It's Chicken Run!
I did find the flippancy a little surprising, but my love for both of those movies (and his nod at their defenders) made me think it was more just a description of the studio being willing to try a bunch of surprising things.
Did you get the sense that he was knocking those films? By the time Chicken Run was included, I felt certain it was quite the opposite — an example of what Dreamworks was drifting toward, what it might have been, before Shrek's massive success steered it into reference-heavy CG territory.
This is hilarious. And a little sad, in that I bet a substantial fraction of his new fanbase won't realize that this is only the most recent of his many, many styles.
Binged this series in about a week and a half — primarily in hotel rooms and airplaines — and have loved every minute of it. I can't recall the last time a show has caused waterworks like this. So much heart, so much unbridled sentiment, and somehow all of it feels earned! What a rare, lovely gift that is.
Dude.
Interesting. There was clearly a big edit job done in the stream I caught; the only obvious gaffe I saw was Jost starting to end the show before it was supposed to end. Then suddenly it just cut to Che launching into his groundhog bit, and the rest was seamless again.
Was Weekend Update heavily edited for the Hulu stream or something? I thought it was strong as hell.
So I'm not defending Rapaport at all, since his rant sucks and he sucks as a person too. But I do want to use it as a launching off point, even though it will probably backfire and make me look like a dick…
I would agree with this, except, did you see OJ? I think it accomplishes the same aims with much more breadth, and a subtler hand. (Though of course I have a lot of love for Duvernay's work too)
I loved La La Land, and am happy to see some love for Chazelle. Score, yes. Cinematography, sure. Director? Why not. But acting? Screenplay? Costume? Two Song nominations when Sing Street doesn't even get one? Jesus Christ.
I caught them on their reunion tour with Low a few years back. One of the greatest concert experiences of my life. I can't wait for this album.
