Fun Fact: Albert King owned the first Flying V model guitar produced by the Gibson Guitar Company, until he lost it in a crap game in the early 60's. The guitar was found in a Memphis pawn shop many years later and it is now owned by Steven Seagal.

If I remember correctly, John Cooper was injured when the track rod broke on his Twini while at speed.
Some of the W108s produced in the final weeks of production (fall 1972) got W116 steering wheels because the factory ran out of the regular W108 wheels. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that was the case in this instance.
