As a fairly new home owner that is tackling more and more DIY projects, this new Workshop section of Lifehacker is probably now my favorite part of the Kinja family.

I re-soldered some brass fittings onto copper tubing in my bathroom remodel. You really have to leave the torch on it for quite a while to get it hot enough for the solder to flow correctly. Took me a few tries to get it sealed correctly.

After the big market crash, buy a tone of stock in all the big banks since they will be worth pennies. They won't go out of business because the govt will give them money, and eventually you'll make 1000%+ returns.

I've had success with this method. More so due to the squirt bottle... However, thanks to the iCam app, I know they just wait for us to leave and get up on the counter when we're not home.

I've seen a recipe for St. Louis style ribs that is smoked with corn cobs. Similar technique, but you just put the cobs directly on the coals instead of on the grate. It still creates steam to help make it nice and juicy, while imparting a little bit of corn flavor.

A friend of mine recently did something like this. He needed to have his lot re-platted, and turned out several of the people on the block needed to as well. So they got a huge discount for having them only to come out once and split it.

I broke mine during use. Damn cheap metal... I'll go with this perforated lemon routine next time though, since I'm all for reducing the amount of kitchen gadgets I own.
