I’ve had strawberries in winter that tasted the same to me as strawberries in the summer. The same with any other produce. Tomatoes are tomatoes. Broccoli is broccoli. etc. The taste difference is minimal for most people who aren’t foodies. That’s what I mean by “first world problem”. Its important to people who care

Perhaps to you they taste incredibly better. But I’ve never noticed much of a difference. A strawberry is a strawberry 0 in or out of season.

Kafromet: It’s kind of ironic that we just had BLT’s this evening with tomatoes that I grew in my back yard. And while I admit they taste better than store-bought tomatoes, they don’t taste “OMG” better. I’d rather have something out-of-season that tasted slightly less than optimal, than nothing at all.

As far as I’m concerned, if it’s in the store, it’s in season. I’ve never noticed enough of a difference in taste. I bet 99.99% of everyone else on the earth doesn’t either.

Other than just playing around, what does everyone use the color changing bulbs for?

As an employee of a public utility, I can tell you this company most likely isn’t evil. It’s a big company and they screwed up. Royally. But the employees are probably overworked. I bet they have major outages all over because if the heat.

I’m sure there are many people who are pure as the driven snow who have nothing to fear by having others go through their phone.

To paraphrase Mickey Rourke’s character in the movie Barfly ... “I don’t hate people, but I seem to feel better when they’re not around”

Is it just me, or is that steak a bit too rare?

It always odd the things you think are just common knowledge, and then find out that not everyone knows. I’ve always used these, ever since I was a kid. For me, it just seem normal that I don’t want my ceramic dishes banging around in a big hard metal sink.

Not very interesting... but I learned long ago that you don’t save money on cheap spray paint. Don’t buy the 97 cent stuff. Go ahead and get the $4 Krylon or Rustoleum. It covers faster and better, with less overspray, and lasts longer because there’s more pigment in the can.

Or... perhaps the restaurant can just pay their servers and kitchen staff more, and ban tips! It can be complicated, but I think it’s the only fair thing to do

It IS hard to pick up the phone to call someone you haven’t talked to before. At least it is for us introverts.

I kinda wish I could do this during the latest systems upgrade at work, but I don’t think driving home in my boxers would work

FYI, there was a typo - that was supposed to say “PVC end-cap”. I’ve been meaning to make an instructable, but haven’t gotten around to it.

Also, if you have a SD card installed, you have the option to connect to the camera and see the rest of the video from the time of the motion. So you can see more than just the 6 second clip.

Another comment - you will see LOTS of criticism regarding privacy of these cameras. I think it has to do primarily with 2 things: It’s a Chinese company, and the way Android handles permissions on their apps has always been overly broad.

I have 5 of these and they are great for the price. A couple of notes:

Other than specific family vacations, in always do this. Weekends too. In fact, the only time I really get to relax is lunchtime at the office. That, and when I don’t tell my wife that management has let us go early on the day before a holiday

Yeah, I’ve heard that about my nickname. I just chose that because of my love of Halloween
