While I don’t follow any religion, I do have one principle that I try to adhere to .. “Assume good intentions”. I’m not always successful in following this principle, because I’m human. But I try. However, the author of the article seems to being going in the opposite direction, and assuming bad intentions.

FYI , Holiday parties are hard to do, because EVERYONE does them. If people aren’t showing up for the, it’s because they probably have a dozen other invites. Some of those they don’t really want to go to, but feel obligated (family, work, etc). So don’t get down on yourself about the holiday party.

Learn the fireman’s carry. It works with dead bodies too. I mean, I would imagine it does. Not like I have any personal experience.

I’m around 50, and I don’t have any real friends that I can go out and do things with either. But I’m married with a teenager, so I don’t really have time to do anything that would require company anyway

Is this a regular thing with Uber rides? I recently took Uber with a co-worker and I was surprised by how much he chatted with the driver. If I take Uber by myself, am I going to be expected to strike up a conversation?

Everyone’s different. I don’t have any real friends (except for my wife). I haven’t for a long time, and I’m OK with that.
