Kid had his first high school finals the week before Christmas. that meant 4-5 hours of studying after school for 2 weeks, and 18 hour days the weekend before Christmas. Last day of finals was the 20th, which meant a whole 3 days breathing room of Holiday anticipation before Christmas eve. Yaaaay! (read that

It may be eye opening how different your views are on what requires discipline.

Sorry, I don’t have any suggestions. I just wanted to vent about a issue that I never anticipated... High school finals. I have a kid in his first year of high school. How semester finals were the week before Christmas. So, of course that means 18 hour days of school and/or studying, even on the weekend. School is out

How long have you been waiting to use that?

I thought this was cool until I got to the “connects to your phone”. That’s a problem, because

Great idea!

Yeah, but you can’t buy gruit ales at the local supermarket. So I’ll just buy regular beer and drink it ice cold (or enjoy my rum and coke)

Point taken, but the normal flavor of beer isn’t really what I’m after. Just like I don’t drink coffee black, but with 3 packets of Splenda. It gives me my caffeine kick, just like beer gives me my buzz.

My drink of choice!

I agree about being able to see you neighbors on your terms. I know that lots of people like a “community” , but I always read that as “people who like to stick their nose in my business”

We are lucky that we get to put all of our unused PTO into a ‘bank’. Then this is used to supplement short term disability. Instead of getting 70% of our pay for short term disability, we get 100% of our pay for all the hours we have banked.

For summer vacation, we generally take a week and a half off. That’s enough time to encompass 2 weekends and get cheaper plane fares for not traveling on Friday-through-Saturday.

Yes, yes it is. So f*** off. :-)

I completely understand that a union helps protect workers. But all the time, I hear about silly things that people/companies can’t do, because there is some union rule.

Some people don’t like the bitterness of beer. That’s why I prefer it ice cold

Logic only works when all other things are equal. Groups of people in the world are NOT treated equal. Therefore, they act differently. People who are oppressed should not be held to ALL the same standards as everyone else. For example, take a kid who is bullied as school. Every day he’s elbowed into the lockers in

I’m not saying that individual people are more powerful because of some inherent trait. Just that societal prejudice has placed certain majority groups (men and Caucasians) in positions of power over others. Therefore, individuals of this majority are more emboldened in disparaging the minority, because they know they

Hell hath no fury....

Come on - its a fact that the rules are different depending on who’s in power (which is normal). Certain things are inappropriate when the majority does them, because they have the power behind them and there is always an implied threat. Those who aren’t in power have more leeway because they don’t have the power to

Oh god, I realized I was doing this recently. I was ranting on Facebook about how people should price their crafts for sale (despite the fact that I don’t sell products myself and have NEVER run a business). And someone pointed out how inappropriate this was, and how bad it looked because I was a guy and most of the
