Yeah that makes sense.

Yeah I have always doubted the claims of Magnus' parentage, too. But all this talk of the sons of Ragnar made me wonder if the show wanted us to think about a future conflict with his sons on both sides of it.

Yeah Ragnar could be disagreeable before, but always in a sort of mischievous way. And after his big drug trip, when he grinned that sneaky grin, I thought he might be back, and was maybe conning Asluag in that long game way of his. But really it was Lagertha pulling a classic Ragnar move. And if we are putting the

This is fantastic stuff! I love the idea that Ragnar is unknowingly laying the groundwork for the English monarchy in the sense that we traditionally think about it. It creates a way for him to live on, not just in semi-myth, but in the kind of history that feels more concrete and accessible to your average

Omg, Finally here! I really royally fucked up my schedule today. Just a disaster. I'm so sorry.

I thought that was a bird?

It's an interesting question. But I'd still prefer he remain a cypher.

Yeah that's what I meant about the absence of sex appeal. These women aren't supposed to enhance themselves at all, even in the most basic ways.

But the whole idea is that they are forbidden any objects of vanity, because god made their wombs beautiful, and because the wives might get jealous. No makeup. No haircuts. No lotion. Nothing. Leg shaving under these circumstances makes negative sense.

They aren't watched. Rita is right outside the door.

In the book Offred asks the commander what happened to her predecessor and he says she killed herself after Serena Joy found out.

Totally disagree. They are very obviously complete hypocrites in the book. The commander essentially tells her most of what was discussed in the car.

She is literally in an old bunny suit in the book.

Yeah I pictured Jezebel's as shabby and run down, and the costumes as the same, not to mention the hair and makeup.

I totally agree that Nick's anger was about realizing his attachment and rage at the commander. However, I think the character, whom I have always loved, needs to be mysterious to work. Giving him a backstory isn't a bad idea because he is a dude. It's a bad idea because we aren't supposed to understand what makes him

Nick only works as a mystery, someone whose motivations we don't understand.

Agreed. Let us end this tedious discussion.

Both things are way, way, way more about personal growth for the character than they are about saying something that the writers think is important or even correct.

The point isn't that Jack can be a Republican and a good person. The joke is that sometimes a bad person is the person you need.

Saying things like you will only find this show funny if you think college kids are worthy of spite is absurd. I find it funny because it made me laugh and because I like Kimmy and Perry and Xan tremendously and enjoy watching their antics. I don't have spite for college-aged kids! I live in close proximity to two
